During Question Time on 1 March 2017 in the Australian Parliament, the opposition again was trying to link the government to the independent Fair Work Commission’s decision to rein in Sunday penalty rates for retail and hospitality workers.

Over and over they asked the question about penalty rates, only to be told the decision was not one made by the government, but it was Fair Work Commissions decision.

The Prime Minister also pointed out that Bill Shorten, when in his role as a union leader signed off on many workplace agreements that saw cuts to penalty rates.
